The desktop app keeps running when a subscription ends

A subscription that stops usually means an app that stops. Not here. When your subscription ends, whether you cancel it or let it lapse, the desktop app stays on your Mac and keeps opening your projects.

What you give up is new versions and the connected features: reaching a session from another machine, the iPhone companion, and session sharing. Those run through our relay, so they need an active subscription. The app itself you keep.

What will vord cost?
We haven't set prices yet. We would rather publish a number we can stand behind than a placeholder we have to correct. The waitlist hears it first.
Is there a free version?
No. vord is a paid app. There is no free tier and no demo build.
What happens if my subscription ends?
The desktop app keeps working on your Mac. You stop getting new versions, and the connected features stop with the subscription.
Which features are the connected ones?
Reaching a running session on a remote host, the iPhone companion, and session sharing, which is in beta. They travel over an end-to-end encrypted relay that carries terminal streams only, never your files.
Can I get the iPhone app today?
Not from the App Store. The iPhone companion is on TestFlight and invite-only while we build it out.
What do I need to run vord?
macOS 15 or newer, on Apple Silicon or Intel. The app is Developer-ID signed and notarized by Apple, and it speaks English, German, French and Spanish.
